Wedge wire lateral assemblies, also called header lateral assemblies, are assemblies of horizontal herring bone style wedge wire screen laterals and vertically secured round hubs. The screen lateral has an inherent even pattern, which is made of stainless steel, Hastelloy alloy steel, and other alloy steels.
The wedge wire screen can be perforated pipe based for high-pressure vessels or designed to evenly distribute flow over the entire screen area.
The wedge wire screen Hub Radial Lateral Assembly has two types: threaded ending wedge wire screen lateral and flange ending wedge wire screen lateral. Threaded ending wedge wire screen laterals are composed of a solid cap on one end and a threaded pipe connection on the other end. The flange ending wedge wire screen lateral is composed of a solid cap on one end and a flange. The different designs make it possible to suit different applications and machines.
Because of the different endings of the wedge wire screen lateral, the connection type is different. Commonly the wedge wire screen laterals are installed onto the vertical hub by a thread. Sometimes, the screen laterals are bolted onto the round hub through flanges on the screen laterals and round hubs.

Header Lateral Assembly- Designs For Horizontal Vessels
Wege wire screen Header lateral assembly consists of a series of wedge wire screen laterals attached to a central header, it allows process engineers to design for uniform flow through the treatment media at a wider range of rates and for a variety of vessel sizes and shapes. Header lateral design for horizontal vessels is also used for square or rectangular underdrains.
